You can turn off the display lights, easily adjust settings, and select SoundStories in very little light or total darkness. Ecotones Duet includes new features designed specifically to enhance its ability to help some of the half billion people around the world who have trouble sleeping or suffer from insomnia. These include the ability to set multiple richness levels that help you control the depth and complexity of the SoundStories that Ecotones Duet generates. Ecotones SoundStories are ultra high-quality and entirely natural audio recordings of relaxing sounds from ocean waves to roaring fires. Ecotones Duet has the ability to continuously and automatically “listen” to each user's background for unwanted and disruptive ambient noise. In less than a tenth of a second, it responds to intrusive noises by re-mixing SoundStories and/or adjusting volume to neutralize the intrusion without becoming disruptive itself. Unlike traditional white noise sound machines, the Ecotones Duet Adaptive Sound Machine primarily uses naturally-recorded sounds that are up to 30 minutes in length — eliminating the annoying audio repetition that have prevented previous sound machines from being effective.

In Adaptive Mode, this experience is entirely automatic. Ecotones Duet’s high-quality microphone detects unusual noises such as slamming doors, barking dogs, or overhead airplanes. Ecotones Duet then automatically increases the complexity—or richness—of the sound being played while gradually and automatically adjusting its playback volume to neutralize the unwanted noise. When the noise abates, Ecotones Duet returns to the original volume and richness settings for the selected SoundStory. Not only does Ecotones Duet's Adaptive Mode help minimize background noise, it helps you stay tuned to the sound you’ve chosen so you can stay relaxed, focused, or on a path toward a good night’s sleep.  We guarantee it.
