What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication", and is an easy way for you to be notified when news stories that interest you appear on your favorite web sites. RSS automatically tells you when something new is posted online, saving you from visiting a particular web site to browse for new articles and features.
Subscribing to RSS
RSS news feeds are subscribed to and viewed using a news reader or "aggregator". The reader lists headlines and news summaries of the feeds you select allowing you to browse for news stories of interest to you. Selecting one of the headlines generally brings up the entire article from the news feed site.
There are a great number of RSS readers available with many offered free of charge. There are both web-based applications you can view through a web browser or desktop applications that you run on your local computer. Google has a large list of available RSS readers, including their own web-based RSS reader.
